Finally got a new laptop, been a few years during which time I was just using the #steamdeck.

I've forgotten how half this windows stuff works, which sucks because after 2ish years, I've still got no clue how linux works.

Blossom passed away yesterday at the grand old age of 17. We are now catless once more but will no doubt adopt again sometime in the future.

Spent this afternoon chilling with the ducks

Gym day 2 done... got a bit carried away and proved how unfit i am pulling some sort of fitness whitey. I won't let it put me off though, next visit Sunday.

(Side note : I know this is boring but I'm using this as a kind of accountability tool to force myself to go. Better boring than dead!)

Back at the gym for the first time in 20+ years. Only managed 5 minutes on the treadmill and 5 minutes on the bike but better than stationary on the sofa. Back on Friday will try a bit longer

A fantastic read on David Lynch and the shrinking value of imagination.
David Lynch and the shrinking value of imagination
Great imagination comes from consciousness and contemplation. But how do we nurture those qualities in a world that increasingly demands, and monetises, our attention?

I have no expectation of developers to always make effort to make their games pick up and playable on the #steamdeck , it is too niche a market.

However I thoroughly appreciate when they do. I am going to make more effort moving forwards to thank those that do and I get hooked on moving forwards

The biggest frustration of adulting I've found is dealing with local tradespeople.

I feel like I must be doing something wrong as on the rare occasion they actually turn up for a quote they then rarely turn up to do the job. When they do they rarely finish the job.

None of them ever explain why

Nearly at the end of Our Adventurer Guild main story. Was a last minute purchase in the Christmas sale and it's all I've played so far in 2025.

Not sure whats next, I fancy some sort of simulator type game but finding ones that work well on the #SteamDeck is a struggle.

Keep getting tempted with a Samsung s10 ultra tablet. It big and shiny and through my work deals I can get it cheapish...

Then I get to the part of the conversation in my head where I try and imagine using it and I realise I don't have anything I'd really use it for.

Sleeping on it is always good.

Im a data analyst in my professional life. On the face of it AI can easily do my job except for one factor - the big systems i analyse data from (Oracle, SAP etc) are so convoluted and illogical at this point that nearly everything i do to get the right data is a 'work around' that changes often
