I actually read The Witcher novels and I have opinions. The backlash to the Netflix series claimed the series was a bad adaptation. Except their complaints had nothing to do with the books. TLDR The books are awful and brimming with pointless sexual violence, and the Netflix series is a blessing.

I really liked #DaughterOfTheMoonGoddess by Sue Lynn Tan. It even had a love triangle that was so well-written that I didn't mind it. It was a fun mythical adventure story. Had a pretty good twist towards the end with satisfying follow up afterward. Delighted to find out it has a sequel!

Reading #DaughterOfTheMoonGoddess by Sue Lynn Tan. I'm about halfway through and enjoying it quite a lot. The plot is incorporating a web of interactions from many characters while still having a tense, focused conflict progressing. A relief after reading novels that dragged or didn't make sense.

I watched #TheUntamed when it came out on Netflix in 2020. I was absolutely engrossed. The magical fantasy world, the depth of political and social interactions, the beautiful costumes - just gorgeous film. I hate the books, though.

I am relatively new to reading romance books on purpose. How do I find the ones that don't feature assault as central plot points? It feels a bit like my choices are either 1) chaste eye-fluttery historic fiction or 2) abrupt drunken bloody encounters.

If you think about it, the very best books are really just extremely long spells that turn you into a different person for the rest of your life

I guess I can't humbug too hard if the season brings this.
Beautiful book.
Perfect read after LeGuin.
