I expected to read more xanxia and danmei, but #GrandmasterOfDemonicCultivation left me upset and sad. Are there books in these genres that don't have sexual violence? I would appreciate recommendations for books or reviewers you trust.

#GrandmasterOfDemonicCultivation is not ethical BDSM. There is not consent and definitely no aftercare. Quite different from the other violence in the series, the sexual violence has no magical power ups and no healing spells and the interaction makes no sense. WHY IS THIS IN HERE???

#TheUntamed tracks #GrandmasterOfDemonicCultivation pretty closely. Unfortunately what stands out about the books is about 5 horrifically violent, bloody, nonsensical sex scenes. Ruined the entire series for me. Ruined 5 years of appreciation for this mythos.

I was excited to finally read #GrandmasterOfDemonicCultivation because I expected more world details than the show and was interested to see more of the romance unfolding. I heard the show censored the gay relationship, but the show seemed quite obvious to me. I don't recommend the books now.

I watched #TheUntamed 2.5 times. Had to rewatch first two episodes and the second half immediately to figure out the time skip. I missed most of the subplot with Lan Sizhiu the first time through. Then a couple months later I rewatched the entire thing. I caught more names and clan politics.
