Mischievous grandad, retired, left of centre, looking forward to many years of progressive, competent, government.
#BBCpoliticsLive at least libdem MP #BenMaguire spoke well and forcefully to discredit Gorka and his vile lies.

#BBCPoliticsLive Vicky Young hopelessly out of her depth in an interview with Trump spokesman Gorka, a malevolent piece of work. No real challenge to his utterly false assertions.

Sigh. #PoliticsLive has become the most feeble of political programmes - packed with a pro Tory / Reform panel, items for discussion selected to tee up "gotchas", and a level of challenge / debate that would embarass a morning TV magazine.
November 27, 2025 at 12:57 PM
#PoliticsLive the BBC panellists can't find too much in the actual budget to carp about, but plenty to say about the leak, Reeves appearances on TV, anything justvto score more cheap points.

"It's amazing what people get so angry about and on that side it's lifting children out of poverty," says Rachel Reeves as Conservative MPs try to shout down her announcement that she is scrapping the two child benefit cap which has pushed hundreds of thousands of children below the poverty line

BBC #PoliticsLive Chis Mason ejaculating all round because of the OBR leak of the budget - no sense of what is the real news instead they make the leak the news. What a disgrace of a program this now is.

FFS do we really have 4-5 hours of Chris Mason smugly wallowing in the woes of Labour? Easy to see how effectively Robbie Gibb is enforcing impartiality at the #BBC #politicslive

#PoliticsLive Tim Montgomerie was taken more or less seriously as a Tory commentator. His transformation into fully fledged derangement in support of Reform is complete. Thanks to "Helen" from Epping for her honest and clear rebuttal of his and Vicky Young's desperate assertions.
November 13, 2025 at 12:56 PM
#PoliticsLive today has a clear Reform agenda to follow - every item designed to undermine Labour and promote Reform... even Tim Montgomerie has been dug up to promote a bigotry around the Bell Hotel Epping that does not exist bar a few racists who try and exploit it.

What a good speech by Sir Ed Davey @eddavey.libdems.org.uk thcis afternoon on the ECHR. Farage, Tice and co. gurned and squirmed like spotty schoolboys, but had no answer to the force of Sir Ed's argument. Good rollicking politics that humiliated the Reform MP's.

Goodness me but #PoliticsLive has become a lightweight magazine programme with an endless diet of right wing tropes being discussed ... here's a Jenrick story... now a Times headline... now a Telegraph line. As far removed from real politics as could be planned.

Richard Holden Tory MP on #PoliticsLive reminding everyone why the Tories are wholly unelectable. Rude, overbearing and entirely unapologetic about the catastrophic inheritance they left the UK.

This obnoxious weirdo can absolutely do one with his poisonous little take on what the British people think.
He lost the right to appropriate our opinions when he foisted his prejudiced and dishonest Brexit shitshow on us and told us that’s what we wanted.
Reform is the grim hangover of that failure
Michael Gove, "Reform voters are very close to, in their general views, with the British public"

Overt racism on our streets, flags as threats, Reform strutting around like they’re in power already, toxic radicalisation by Musk on X, politicians howling to leave the ECHR and to hell with the consequences…
How can the govt just meekly nod along?
FFS and for all our sakes, stand up to this shit.

Anyone with a functioning cortex will agree with Macron about Brexit.
We were sold a lie and what has happened since is the exact opposite of what was promised.
One would hope the UK government approve of his comments.

Some quite eccentric quotes from some refugee charities coming out saying “this will not work we need safe and legal routes” and ignoring that this… establishes one?

Sure, look at the fine print and yes there are holes here, but it strongly gives the impression of pre-written outrage
“I know some people will still ask, why should we take anyone in?

“We accept genuine asylum seekers because it is right that we offer a haven to those in most dire need.

“Tories would be fools to fall for Boris Johnson again”

Well they are, so they might…

But for the rest of us, it would be like being offered a stinking piece of rubbish that we’d watched them get out of the bin, dust off and put back on the plate.

Forget it.
