Retired now. LOVED practicing and teaching diagnostic radiology. We love the great music in Cleveland, especially Apollo’s Fire and Cleveland Orchestra. Love CMA, CMNH, AMNH, and The Met museum. Instead of massive CO2-emitting “vroom-vroom,” we sail.

I want to see people like Hegseth and Noem in prison like Bolsinaro is. If these cruel criminal MFs don’t end up behind bars for a LONG time, we are not a nation of laws, but just the playground of oligarchs with elite criminal impunity for them and their lackeys.

If a government lawyer makes a specious legal argument in support of war crimes, shouldn’t that lawyer be considered an accomplice to those crimes? Trump’s lawyers have paid a high price for unprofessional behavior. Lawyers supporting Hegseth’s crimes should pay a very high price.

I often ask, on the topic of why people believe things which are provably false, when a sophisticated “explanation” becomes really just an excuse for bad behavior. Now I ask if sophisticated legal arguments are just an excuse for murder.

As Trump’s popularity continues to drop, the MAGA coalition shows signs of cracking, and Trump’s mental acuity slips, there is a frantic feel to the administration, as if Trump’s people are trying to grab all they can, while they can.

Performance this evening by Yuja Wang and the Cleveland Orchestra was spectacular…absolutely thrilling. No electronic effects, intense amplification or giant loudspeakers needed when the music is this good.

In our mid 70s with physical issues that makes sailing difficult, we sold our beloved Tartan 3700. I’m often asked if we are getting a power boat (lots easier). But I refuse to make noise and spew lots of CO2 and can’t afford a Candela electric powerboat. Hope for invites to sail as passengers.

I am an atheist but would not disagree with anyone arguing that these new restrictions on religious symbols and public prayer might go too far. However, it’s a tiny over-reach compared to religious zealots pushing, pushing, pushing their beliefs 24/7 everywhere.

I would not be so skeptical about the White House announcement of a program to use AI to accelerate scientific research if it had not come from a President who probably can’t even spell AI.

They won’t “find the courage” - They are being paid to have no courage. The naivety of environmentalists, those concerned about climate disaster, is staggering. Nothing will change until the corrupt individuals involved are attacked vigorously and aggressively.

World leaders must find the courage to end the fossil-fuel age
Despite the weak agreement seen at the COP30 climate conference, Brazil was right to prioritize discussing the eventual phase-out of fossil fuels. Others must now help to find a way forward.

This is critically important because of the possibility that MAGA might realize that Trump and the GOP are just using the culture war crap to further a corrupt money grab by the ultra-wealthy.

This is a good thing. Cavalier attitudes towards returning items had a vast environmental cost. And because it raises the cost of doing business, it raises prices for all of us, including those who don’t return a high percentage of what they buy.

I get so sick of all of the "explanations" (excuses) for why people believe things for which there is either no evidence or there is solid counter-evidence.
The immoral DISHONESTY of such beliefs - Creationism, anti-vaccination crap, climate science denial, election denial, etc. must be stopped.
Vaccines save lives.

And no, they do not cause autism.
