The over 51 minute wait is the Texas Union at UT Austin. I'm thrilled our students are voting, but I wish they had more voting kiosks.

Gender breakdowns of early voting in Georgia, Michigan and North Carolina respectively, showing massive double digit leads of women voting. R's relying on men to show up on election day may be a bad idea. Gender may end up being the most important factor this election cycle as education was in 2016.

Did voting make me teary? Yes.

Did seeing people looking gleeful after voting make me joyful? Yes.

Did waiting for an hour in a long line to early vote make me hopeful? Yes.

Never had to wait on a line in New Haven, people.

This is good.
Very good.

I wish there was more work to make voting accessible for abuse survivors who have to hide their addresses. this is one way victims' voting rights are suppressed.

(and one big reason why I find the way people talk about non-voters pretty disgusting!)

This is Jonas Salk (1914 - 1995) who decided not to patent his 1955 #polio #vaccine so that it would be affordable for millions of people who couldn't afford it. He lost out on an estimated $7billion. In an interview with Edward R. Murrow, Salk said: "There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?"

The idea of election day being declared a federal holiday is gaining momentum, with many advocating for this change. Data shows it could enhance voter turnout and foster a stronger democracy. We need innovative solutions to encourage more citizens to exercise their right to vote!
