Can I ask which non-English language news you’re referencing? It’s actually more the opposite with Latino news stations like Univision, Telemundo, etc. They’ve covered immigrations issues fairly consistently over the past several administrations

Anyway more hard numbers on what was clearly a referendum Dems need to note and actually fight for on Trump and ICE from Passaic NJ, a place I know well and have a soft spot for ever since working on the 2008 movie Be Kind Rewind, which entirely shot there.
Between 2020 and 2024, no New Jersey county moved further right than Passaic County (11pts). At 43% it's also the most the most-Latino county in the state, and is among the least-white overall.

Last night, it moved 18pts to the left, surpassed only by Hudson County (the second-most Latino county)

Actual numbers here on Passaic County in NJ, where Paterson is. This is absolutely a signpost of a referendum against Trump and ICE. Via @clarajeffery.bsky.social
The big county I was waiting for in New Jersey, Passaic County, which is 42% Hispanic. We have 95% of the vote in and this is what it will end up:

2020 President: D+16
2024 President: R+3
2025 Governor: D+15

There is a ton of evidence that Hispanics in 2025 shifted hard back to Democrats.

or possibly since we’re talking about the Latino vote, the tough on immigration last minute candidate didn’t quite convince people to go to the polls on election day
