While I won't really comment on what I think about the government shutdown possibly ending, one thing that's for sure is that any Democrat looking to get into office should make healthcare a central part of their campaign. It's a winning issue for Democrats, and unbelievably, healthcare is popular.

I just want to point out that we have polling averages, and they're completely unbiased and not manipulated for any one side. I'm sure they aren't completely perfect, but we try to ensure the most accurate numbers possible.

We have a ton of our maps on our website, electioncord.com, using our 100K Districts from our 100K District Project. From Presidential Results to demographics like ethnicity and education. What we want to know is, is there any maps that you want to see added?

Minor Update: On our Tabula America Index map, we put the legend in the map itself, rather than it being below the map. The map tries to show what the demographics are of each 100K District in just one map.

Just for giggles, I took the race and gender numbers, and put them in Redistricter's election shifter. I used Texas 2024 as a baseline, and Democrats would actually win Texas by 3%. Here's our 100K District map of the state in that simulated election, along with the shifts. (1/2)

ElectionCord has hit 500 followers on BlueSky! Completely crazy, considering we were at 200 only a couple of days ago. Thanks to everyone who's followed recently, and we are just getting started. (1/2)

Just to add onto this, we took a look at the major polls for the VA and NJ Elections, and ranked them by how accurate they were. On the left is VA Gov, and on the right is NJ Gov. (1/2)

This was the Pres24->Gov25 Shift with the data on DRA with our 100K districts. Somehow it does seem that Sears did marginally better in rural areas but Spanberger destroyed her in NoVa, Richmond, and did marginally better in the college towns and Virginia Beach.

According to @VoteHub, if you combine NJ-18, NJ-19, and NJ-20 from our 100K District Project, areas of Passaic County that are all majority Hispanic, they shifted from D+13 to D+46, absolutely insane.

Bold strategy, considering Trump's current approval ratings with the economy and healthcare are -17% and -23% respectively, also @navigatorsurvey.bsky.social's new poll today had Democrats up 15% when asked "Who do you trust more to handle Healthcare?"

One thing that Democrats cannot do after these results is rest on their laurels after these results. It's good, but they can still maximize these shifts by getting people to turn out! (1/2)

In short, if I had to characterize the major elections and why Democrats won:

VA: Big turnout margins and big shifts back to Dems in places like Loudoun County

NJ: Hispanic shifts back to Democrats, particularly in the NYC suburbs

NYC: Young people and minorities were Mamdani's coalition

The big county I was waiting for in New Jersey, Passaic County, which is 42% Hispanic. We have 95% of the vote in and this is what it will end up:

2020 President: D+16
2024 President: R+3
2025 Governor: D+15

There is a ton of evidence that Hispanics in 2025 shifted hard back to Democrats.
November 5, 2025 at 4:33 AM
Yep, Dems fundamentally are the party that benefits the most from high turnout, what some people I think forgot was that turnout went DOWN between 2020 and 2024!
high turnout bad for Dems believers in shambles
Holy shit, the Prop 50 turnout was massive! NYT projecting 10.6 million votes, CA GOV 2022 was 10.9M votes.

Riverside County looking great for prop 50
November 5, 2025 at 4:18 AM
Prop 50 is outperforming Harris by 7 points by Orange County
November 5, 2025 at 4:13 AM
NYTimes and NBC has called Prop 50 with uh 0 votes in... yea it won't be close if there's a call at poll closing
