Don't subscribe to the Seattle Times even though they email me 300 times a day, but I did LITERALLY call her office 5 minutes ago about this (and protecting trans people). Call your senators www.senate.gov/senators/sen... I also called my rep and state governor.

If you need 15 hours of webinars and 300 pages of instructions to explain how to submit a grant application to increase equity in any field, and you have to say throughout, "don't worry if you don't have a phd" you might want to reexamine what you mean by "equity". #GrantWriting #Nonprofit

The message I am hearing tonight is that a really meaningful thing straight, cis people can do is simply to vocally support the trans community. This may seem small but it is meaningful. Do it online. Do it in conversations. Do it often and consistently. It's the right thing to do.
I just wish other people, esp people in power, held that value. We keep us safe. But we need support from cis allies. Get loud. Be the squeaky wheel. Fight everyone and anyone who thinks that we're expendable. Do not be satisfied with half measures.
