Toss these pretty words
like flitting paper confetti
carelessly to the wind
My open heart flying
and beating like wings
I know you're there somewhere
beyond where I can see
I dream of you
I pray for you
to find these words
and read me
See my flightless soul
Carry this heart
into the sky
let it soar

Boy, the ancient Egyptians would have loved these.
You're looking at three golden tortoise beetles (Charidotella sexpunctata). They're native to the Americas, generally the east coast of North America all the way down to Argentina.

The gold coloration is structural, semi-reflective layers in the cuticle selectively reflect wavelengths of light.

Unpopular opinion: Bush's popularity is mostly due to how pretty Gavin Rosedale was, but if he had been ugly they still would have been popular because they rock. He was just too pretty for his prettiness not to be the focus.

I just want to say that if a dozen people don't have gruesome on screen deaths in the first 15 minutes, then it is not a faithful adaptation of Fourth Wing for the Amazon show. I don't think four pages go by in the book without a death, most often someone named. #fourthwing

Sure I have a little brain damage but this was the hardest puzzle for me! All black and white, all squiggles. It was supposed to get easier as I used up pieces and it never got anything less than frustrating. The things I will do for a new tin to keep my dice in.

If I had a dollar for every nipslip or hand bra I have seen today on FB Dating profiles I would have 3 bucks, which seems like a huge number. These nice ladies aren't just out to hookup, all 3 wanted long term relationships. Do I need to step up my game? Is that what the "market" demands?

I just had a really good conversation with my son about MLK Jr Day and the reasons for the holiday. He is in 3rd grade, they aren't teaching anything about it. Nothing about the Civil Rights Movement or segregation. Today also offers one of the biggest reasons why learning this history is important.

So @reachkaty.bsky.social, it looks like you were totally right about Threads and the oligarch who runs it, with their new "Twitter like" content moderation (or lack thereof) I am glad I also made a presence here, it's going to start getting bad over there.
