"Public investment" vs "Wasteful Subsidy." The only problem with this clever Singer cartoon is that some people might actually not get that it’s sarcastically illustrating the incorrect perception problem, NOT telling the truth.

Just in case it actually needs to be said, the truth is the opposite.

An enclosed mall in Downtown White Plains, one block from Metro-North, is set to become a public park and 3,200 housing units, of which 400 will be affordable. Redeveloping dying malls is a no-brainer.

Pure powder coming down! It’s been snowing pretty heavy this afternoon but with small flakes with such low temps. It’s blowing and drifting but guesstimate about 4in so far in SW MO. #MOwx

DEVELOPING: The Trump Administration has started firing "several hundred" FAA probationary employees who maintain critical air traffic control infrastructure, according to their union.

The move comes not even three weeks since the deadly midair collision over Washington, D.C.

A lot of discussions on how far behind the US is compared to the rest of the developed world building high speed rail but examples like this show how we’re lagging behind many other countries in picking the low-hanging transit fruit like building this short traditional heavy rail transit extension.
While Madrid has built 130 miles of subways in the last 30 years, Chicago still hasn't broken ground on a 5.5-mile Red Line extension that it started planning in 2006. We need to build a lot more transit, and we need to do it quickly in this country.

Cyrus is extremely correct here - this SFgate article is dangerous and proposes ideas that will injure and kill riders.

Most e-bikes are more similar to regular bikes than they are to motorcycles and even cars!
Bike lanes are not a reward for pedaling. They are for the safety of users.

I agree there needs to be more discussion around class 3 e-bikes, but forcing them into the road is not the solution. This article is effectively asking for class of riders to die more often.

We need to talk about San Francisco's e-bike problem
E-bikes have exploded in popularity in San Francisco, but given their speed, they shouldn't be treated the same as normal bikes, writes SFGATE's Dan Gentile.

This is literally how we should build transit: pair new development around transit stations, and use the added tax revenue to pay for the cost of constructing the transit. Rinse and repeat.
