The Modern Slavery Act was a Theresa May (broken clock moment) creation.
It contains all the tools and obligations to tackle MS at the root.
It relies on treating victims as victims. This is the problem, though. That is seen as a dodge by police etc so they get low hanging fruit, not bosses.

Once upon a time there was a prohibition.

I have experienced this already over the last fortnight. It made no difference to me or to the way the trial proceeded. It does make a difference to those who cannot stand, who then get singled out for failing to do so. Acknowledging that disabled or frail people exist harms nobody.
This is all because they're going to stop saying 'All rise' in court and say 'All rise, if able'.

I'm not sure a review is actually needed. The CJS needs money - it has been chronically underfunded for years. If the government want to stop the criminal courts being in crisis then they need to cough up the cash for the system to work properly. Anything else is just kicking the can down the road.
