I’ve been saying for ages that Gen AI, and one product of that ilk in particular, will eventually eat itself. We just have to beware of becoming the sandwich filling.

I lived in Handsworth weeks after those riots in ‘85. Stuart Maconie is spot on here.
I know Handsworth well. I love it. The Soho Road is one of the most vibrant streets in the world. I was attached to the library there for a writing project last year and I wrote a whole chunk about it in my book Hope And Glory. Read it if you get a chance

It's an important thing to remember that Reform in Nottinghamshire have not just banned the Nottingham Post from engaging with them, but the LDRs: the Local Democracy Reporters who provide local political stories to a wide range of local outlets, including the BBC.

Had some excellent news from a smartly dressed lady at a register office last week, which is that I'm now married. Shortly afterwards, also excitingly, though a bit less so, these paperbacks arrived of three of my back-from the-dead books. 1983 out August 14th. Villager & Help The Witch Sept 11th.

Beyond busy with amazing @bcu-ucu.bsky.social as we fight a 340+ attack on jobs & ongoing dispute over performance management against a backdrop of suddenly imposed workload-increasing policy changes at same time as shrinking teams with over 200 "silent redundancies" through MARS.
