There are certain fights that you need to either never pick in the first place or be certain you're willing to see all the way through.

The shutdown was one of them.

I had the displeasure of briefly dipping my toes in the world of public education. Most curriculums are built on towers of bullshit that educators — who are *forced* to use voodoo methods based on what can best be described as vibes — are told is "evidence based." I couldn't get out quickly enough.

It seems like it would be a good thing if the courts had something to prevent this kind of situation. A temporary order that freezes the status quo until the legality of potentially illegal and highly disruptive government action can be determined. Too bad that's never been invented.

Imagining a "corner" to get mad at.

BlueSky is solidly anti-Platner and we're also probably the most vicious anti-Schumer "corner" there is.

NB: I have no idea how Fetterman is supposed to support the argument that the left is anti-Semitic. Just deranged Blue Juche ranting/free association.

Hopefully a number of Dems who thought their seats were safe will be getting primary challenges.

Axios is so fair and balanced it publishes press releases from congressional leadership on both sides of the aisle.

Very much a "not like that" situation, in light of my complaints as recent as late September.

It's like they just became Democrats yesterday and haven't put up with an entire lifetime of this fecklessness in favor of parochial political or big money interests.

Dems: *spits in our faces*

🔵🧃: What many don't understand is that spit is health serum, this was a gift from our dear leaders.

"We'll remind the American people how mean those Republicans are, and they'll listen, just like they did in 2024, because normies are closely paying attention to politics and understand how the government works, and then we'll victoriously sing Kumbaya on the steps of the Capitol in January 2027."

This nation proves over and over again that its citizens lack the virtue to be a free people. Every time we think we might have found one structure component that hasn't entirely rotten out from the inside, it breaks.

You may not have intended for Indivisible to spearhead the Dem Tea Party, but it's just as critical to America's future as is defenestrating the regime. You have millions with you, Ezra. Stop trying to work with the Party. You see what needs to be done.

At the 60 vote threshold, won't the vote just allow up any electorally vulnerable Republican to muddy the waters about his/her record on the BBB? Seems like a gift tbh.

Caving now means they literally did it for nothing and caused harm to people for nothing. Just absolute failure on every level.

At the 60 vote threshold for passage of this ACA bill, the Dems are giving a great opportunity to the 12 most electorally vulnerable Repubs to score a cheap political point. It's NOT a clear vehicle for messaging. It may even be counterproductive.
November 10, 2025 at 12:18 AM
How so? Do you expect the bill to require House Dem votes?
November 10, 2025 at 12:12 AM
Insult to injury. They really think we're that stupid. It's remarkable.
November 9, 2025 at 10:26 PM
You're right. It's better to accommodate the Republicans. They will hurt us even more if you don't! This is also why Harvard should sign the compact. And why NY voters should have voted for Cuomo. There's no point in fighting! It's just better to accept that the US is a kleptocratic autocracy now.

Have you seen the video, from earlier in his political career, where he confronts a reporter while quite obviously high on cocaine?

For whatever reason, it eclipses all the many other bad things about Newsom for me, and I'm not particularly anti-drug. A huge electoral liability?
