Instead of confronting the fundamental problem, voluntary care is being overshadowed. Many people requiring involuntary treatment were once less sick, but were unable to access voluntary care when they needed it.

Today the BC NDP introduced Bill 31, the Mental Health Amendment Act, in response to an ongoing court case.

The BC Greens say the move is an opportunistic effort to protect its defence of involuntary treatment.

When there are threats to progress on reconciliation, we must respond with immediate and proportionate action.
The BC Greens are calling on the NDP government to implement a Three-Point Reconciliation Plan.

“We believe this 3-point plan can reset the tone, reduce tensions, and allow the land question to be addressed in the legislature with First Nations in a depoliticized way,” said MLA Botterell.

The BC Greens want British Columbians to access this province’s clean energy advantage.

But the BC NDP have made it clear that the North Coast Transmission Line is being advanced primarily as a public subsidy for LNG projects, rather than as a long-term investment in BC’s clean energy future.

When MLA Jeremy Valeriote toured the proposed route of the PRGT pipeline this summer, he learned from residents that they'd been denied a Health Impact Study because there weren't enough "human receptors" to justify one.

Today, he brought those concerns to the legislature in Victoria.

The major projects highlighted by the PM raise serious questions:

Ksi Lisims LNG does not represent the interests of British Columbians, and the Prime Minister’s message that fossil fuel projects, such as Ksi Lisims, are low carbon and aid the energy transition is flat-out greenwashing.

Dignity and freedom for people with disabilities should be nonpartisan!

We're very happy for all the friends who've advocated for this change, and whose lives will be a little easier starting next month.
Legitimately thinking of two of my dearest friends.

I aim to avoid partisanship generally (good candidates over parties), but: thank you @bcgreencaucus.bsky.social for making the lives of my friends a little easier and for demonstrating real political will that serves our communities.
