B.C. Green Caucus

Representing elected Green MLAs in British Columbia.
We tried to improve Bill 31 by introducing 5 amendments.

The BC NDP stubbornly stuck to their interests - using limited clean electricity to liquefy fossil gas and mine some non-critical minerals.

Cost overruns -- we saw how costs exploded on the fast-tracked Site C dam, and have serious concerns for the North Coast Transmission Line.

Fast-tracked construction, without the necessary BC Utilities Commission or Environmental Assessment Office process.

We need a robust Electricity Allocation Framework, not piecemeal restrictions for handpicked industries.

Greenwashing dirty industries.

First Nations along Phase 3 of the transmission line weren't properly consulted

The North Coast Transmission Line is another subsidy for LNG.

The BC NDP claim Bill 31 addresses climate change and supports First Nations partnerships. Here’s why they’re wrong:

The BC Greens voted against Bill M216, Professional Reliance Act, at 2nd Reading, but the bill still passed to Committee Stage. Because this is a Private Members Bill, the public is welcome to provide input.

Grateful to the grassroots organizers for bringing us all together to protect old growth forests and call out the government's broken promises -- here in Victoria, and across BC at simultaneous rallies. Both BC Green MLAs attended the Victoria rally while juggling duties in the legislature. #bcpoli

Thrilled to be at the First Nations Leaders’ Gathering on the territories of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx ̓wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.

Looking forward to connecting with old friends & new colleagues to discuss solutions to the biggest challenges facing BC.

If anyone has additional information on this incident, please contact local Penticton RCMP.

We’re so sorry to hear about this attack on an elected official’s home. MLA Boultbee, the rest of the legislature has your back.

The Provincial Forest Advisory Council is another win from the BC Greens’ cooperation agreement with the BC NDP. We hope PFAC’s mandate is enough to finally give BC forests the paradigm shift they desperately need.

BC doesn't have a doctor shortage.

We're just not using our doctors effectively.

Crude oil pipelines? We've got a better idea.

Vanuatu is probably going to sue us.

Bitumen? In this economy? You must be joking.

Politicians are talking about building a new crude oil pipeline in BC. Here's why that's a bad idea. 🧵

Electoral Reform in BC
We know there is majority support in BC for proportional representation - do you support this model?
What has changed since the 2018 referendum on electoral reform, that the Committee should be aware of?
