Today I planned to offer an amendment to a bill on human trafficking that would require the Department of Labor to release the files it has on Jeffrey Epstein, but the Republican majority canceled consideration of the bill rather than vote on the amendment.

It was wonderful to celebrate the grand opening of the Centro Mercado with local leaders and community members in Cornelius. No one in our country should go hungry, and the Mercado provides a welcoming space where people in need can get free food that is healthy and culturally appropriate.

A friend of a friend, who marched in DC on January 6, 2021, got this in the mail this week.

Interestingly, this man is receiving health care assistance via the Affordable Care Act.

And, he is an immigrant himself.

Can someone please explain the disconnect here?
