1/ Russia does not comply with international agreements, it places its own security interests and geopolitical sphere of influence above international law.

This is a structural approach rooted in traditional 19th-century power politics, in contrast to modern, sovereignty-based international order.

Everyone in the Trump Administration is a coward. Trump, Vance, Hegseth, Rubio, and Witkoff were all too chicken to deliver Trump's capitulation demands to Kyiv so they sent the Secretary of the Army.

In 1994 both Russia and the US gave Ukraine security guarantees, to protect Ukraine if they gave up nucleair weapons.

Signed agreements mean nothing to both the US and Russia. So why would Ukraine agree to be fooled twice?

Trump's 28-point "peace plan" is just Russia's capitulation demands repackaged once again. The only real difference is Trump is now demanding to make a profit from the deal.

We have a US administration trying to bully Ukrainians into accepting Russia’s proposal that their sovereignty be undone. Aside from the naked injustice of this, there are five basic practical reasons why it would make the world far more dangerous.

Calling Putin “transactional” misses the mark. He’s an ideological autocrat who has heavily invested in exporting illiberal nationalist populism across Europe & the U.S. What he fears most is democracy thriving in Ukraine. Any negotiation with him must start from that reality.

Putin will view this as that Washington is capitulating, because it is tired, frightened and eager to avoid involvement.

That is the real meaning of this to the Kremlin.

And Trump does not grasp that he is embarrassing not only himself, but also his country on the world stage.

The US effectively cut back military aid to Ukraine to almost zero.

Why would Trump get to have a say in anything?

"At this moment Ukraine may face a very hard choice: either the loss of dignity, or the risk of losing a key partner."

I do not envy Zelensk. Europe seems the only ally Ukraine has left, basically it has been clear for a while which side Trump is on.

As said before, the US are no longer our ally..

Seems like the #Russians simply dictated their demands to #Trump.
More evidence that the Trump/Witkoff “peace plan” for Ukraine came straight from the Russians - it uses Russian syntax.

It has become very clear whose side the #Trump Administration is on. Why would Ukraine either Russia or the US for keeping their part of the deal? They didn't with the Budapest Memorandum, why should they trust them now?

And my question below still stands..

The best part of "peace plan" is part of Russian seized assets go to "developing US-Russia trade".

Which is euphemism for "Donald takes his bribe".

What other time did Trump exclude one party from a negotiation, and how did it end?

We have been here before and we shouldn't expect Trump to perform any better than when he handed over Afghanistan to the Taliban on a silver platter, while torpedoing the elected government in Kabul.

Ukraine has been under extreme pressure since Russia invaded, a situation that is unique in the recent history of sovereign states.

The war has led to massive destruction, millions of refugees, and a deep humanitarian crisis, with the largest humanitarian disaster in Europe since WWII.

People, politicians and dictators, never backtrack on shitty convictions and decisions, until voters make them.

Putin will not back down, he will double down, and there's no more democratic correction, because he effectively killed it off.

Same goes for Trump, he won't stop until people stop him.

The imperialists of this world would like to determine the future once again, both for the Palestinians and for Ukraineb and Europe.

Europe is apparently seen as nothing more than a colony; the outcome of the talks between Washington and the Kremlin will be followed by some decree..
Americans deciding the fate of Gaza without Palestinian input, and deciding the fate of Ukraine without Ukrainian or European input. I’m certain it will work out great! 😑
