Finally trying Expedition 33. I SUCK at the combat QTEs, and it feels like it's trying to rip my steam deck apart every time a prerendered cutscene (or any cutscene really) plays, but I can feel this one's special. I've never played a game this melancholy before. We Continue.

Sober me is looking at how much further drunk me got in Hollow Knight and I'm losing my mind.
Stone cold sober I got stuck on False Knight, but powered by a tallboy of beer and who knows what else, I beat him, unlocked a blast, and explored a ton of the map.

I wasn’t there. I didn’t know anyone who was killed, and I didn’t know anyone who knew anyone who was killed. I was 14 and a high school freshman in Central Texas and over 1,700 miles away when it happened.

Alright, Mamdani pulling it out (at least at this early phase, I don't rule out Cuomo trying again in the general, running as an "independent") has given me SOME hope. It's not much, but it does show that there is A point where "Hey, I know that guy" won't carry you across the finish line.

Had a conversation with my mom the other day that really drove home how nihilistic I either became over the last 8 years, or always was. She tells me "things have been bad before, and we made them better."
