If you take a single lesson out of Star Wars let it be that successful opposition to fascism only happened after all the different factions stopped fighting with each other and joined forces.
You can criticize your allies, of course, but you can’t be more focused on defeating them than the enemy.

Not just unusual. It’s unprecedented. It’s a seismic reordering of American government and an actual instance of the “weaponization” of the DOJ that the Republicans were heretofore so fond of complaining about (when it wasn’t happening).
