Smoking is a great example of societal change. We should be proud of that. The problem is that the movement had motivation because many people were getting cancer and dying. Including kids. Today we don't give a fuck if kids are dying. And definitely not adults.

Smoking went from everywhere all the time and a symbol of cool to ... none of those things in a pretty short period of time once the political and cultural will reached a threshold for action.

It's probably worth saying explicitly. Even if you did decide that you wanted to train a machine to replicate human judgment, you probably wouldn't want that machine using inputs from ALL humans. There are many humans who's judgement shouldn't be used for anything ever.
