The #igivearod2025 totals are in! This drive in honor of Quince Mountain's #Iditarod run brought in a record $138,646, breaking the previous 2019 record of $127,500. This brings the sum total of all #igivearod drives to an amazing $525,720 to support Alaska school projects and organizations.

I prepared a set of beautiful maps to go along with the BM team from Tripod Flats Cabin onward.
That obviously did not happen.

We’ve just exceeded an amazing $46,000 in donations, including 72 funded projects for 39 schools and nearly $7,000 for other Alaska organizations including housing and support for LGBTQ+ people, medical care for animals, funding for arts programs, and funding for shelters. #igivearod #mushersky
As the Iditarod and Igivarod complete the 8th day, y'all have contributed over $41,000 to Alaska school projects and Alaska nonprofit organizations!! That includes $2000 to the Alaska Veterinary Outreach for spay/neuter and vaccinations in remote Alaskan villages. bit.ly/igivearod2025

An interesting discussion about farm inheritance tax issues on the other side of the pond. As ground/machinery values rise, this becomes increasingly important, even for "small farmers"
Good breakdown of the actual impact of the inheritance tax changes on farms.
The £1m is ON TOP of standard exemptions. So it's £1.3m tax-free if includes a residence. £2.6m if the spouse inherits. £3m if kids get some too.
And the tax is on surplus, not the total.
