There's a lot wrong with British democracy, but three things we should defend with iron determination:

- no party involvement in appointing judges;

- non-partisan drawing of constituency boundaries;

- limited party spending by comparison with the US - though this is now very much at risk.

What's the min number of F35Bs UK needs to sustain a frontline strength of 24 aircraft aboard a carrier: 36, 48, 72? If it's lower end then look for a 3rd squadron. But given the legs on a B variant, I think I'd rather buy another tranche of typhoon than A variants for some dubious nuclear mission.
