I love bacon 🥓 and democracy - and I'm willing to stand up for both.
Hassan, STFU. They don't have to do jack, bc you guys caved. Spineless MFers.

But.....

I won't be bought. Americans paid 70% of those tariffs - it's our money. Govt still racking up debt at an astonishing rate, inflation is up (along w unemployment & groceries), wages down, Trump giving billions to Argentina, throwing lavish parties, building ballrooms while starving citizens.

Well that's nice that they're warning us - what are they actually doing about it?? I'm sure ICE and CBP are going to get right on that whole "identifying themselves clearly" thing as soon as they stop shooting protesters w pepper balls, tear gas, disappearing people...

Trying to figure out what #SCOTUS just did with #SNAP, and why Justice Jackson temporarily froze the district court's ruling?

Via "One First," me on what's going on—and why I think Jackson's move was savvy, notwithstanding the awful circumstances that forced it:

190. SNAP WTF?
A very quick explainer on what (and why) Justice Jackson issued an "administrative stay" in the SNAP case late on Friday night, and on what's likely to happen next

KBJ threaded the needle thanks to CA1’s unfinished business.

-if she denied the admin stay, the full SCOTUS woulda stepped in to override her.
-if she immediately referred the case to the full Court, they coulda dragged feet.
-instead she boxed them in to act quickly once she does refer the case.

Agreed! When Schumer caved earlier this yr, I was so angry. We just aren't dealing with "normal" anymore.

I watched a video by HCR about this & she said that if the GOP accepted the offer, it would be a win for Dems bc they end the shutdown & restore subsidies. But, GOP (not surprisingly) rejected it & now GOP owns this. (At a time when SNAP, Argentina, ballrooms & great Gatsby parties are happening.)
