Disappointed to see this. 160 union workers are fighting for a fair contract at Individualized Shirts, a US factory that makes high-end men's button-ups. The managers there have rejected the union's request for fair wages and health insurance. The union is asking for support 🧵

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Sacrificing our rights are freedoms to appease a tyrant only encourages him to take more until nothing is left. We must not obey in advance. We must fight tyranny head-on wherever it appears!

A show of force so he can militarize our cities because of the 2026 elections.

Donald Trump’s plan is one that’s been repeated over and over again by dictators across history — inciting the local population before sending disrupters.

That’s how you convert a democracy into something else.

Illinois won’t fall for this ploy.

“Courage is contagious.”
Love this quote from @meganranney.bsky.social inside:

“Collect the data. Share the data. Write the stories. Share the stories. Do the analyses. Share the analyses. Call your reps. Mentor the kids. Create the partnerships. Join the groups. Build the parks. Don’t give up.”
