My take on "Zionism" is still that it's an increasingly dumb and unhelpful concept of reference in an era where an Israeli state, politics and nationalism exists and can be analysed in itself rather than endlessly litigating abstract hypothetical ideological arrangements.

When talking historically about pre-1948 political movements in Palestine and Europe, "Zionist" has some utility as a term. When the state of Israel is a concrete reality of the Middle East for the past 75 years, you can just talk about it instead of imagined other versions of it.

Democratic elected officials should be out there on the frontlines protesting against this regime’s unconstitutional and immoral crackdown.
Violence must stop, and we need to keep the focus on protecting fundamental rights.
There is nothing President Trump would like more than a violent confrontation with protestors to justify the unjustifiable — invocation of the Insurrection Act or some form of martial law.

Stating that Trump is itching for any chance to move us further into authoritarianism does not make Schiff our enemy. This isn’t about whether violence from protestors is fair or justified, it’s about tactics.

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.
