when it flows in sewage and into our plants, it thickens as temps fall, separating in our settling tanks.

the churning water forms grease globs that build like snowballs, and operators remove them so they don’t clog the process.

Vernon says, A non-zero number of you apparently did not know that The Last Unicorn was a book before it was a movie. It is by Peter S. Beagle. It is made of spun glass and fairytales and iron knives and there are individual lines that I would give my lungs to have written. Shapechangers replies, I saw him every year at NYCC for several years straight, bought something at his table, asked him to sign it, and we spoke. He remembered me from year to year, no small feat at that con. He remembered which stories he'd told me. One year I came back with a different gender on. He squinted at me a bit and said thoughtfully, "I've seen you before in this place." All I had to say was, "last year you told me the story about the inoshishi." And his face cleared, and he leaned in with a grin and told me about a German guitarist who he traveled with, twice. Who transitioned between the first and second time, so he'd gotten to meet this person all over again on the second round. It was a wonderfully kind way to let me know that everything was fine. I was fresh out of the closet and I needed that, and maybe he could see it. The Last Unicorn is the best book in the world and I will defend it and its author til I die. the end. /end ID]

My entry to this month's challenge on @vgen.co !! The theme is : Mirrors 🪞
This theme was a perfect excuse to draw a scene between my two main OCs, the twins Lio and Léon, and specifically draw the first time they meet after two decades of separation.

Two characters who look almost exactly the same outside of clothing and haircuts stare at each other in disbelief. In the background is a forest-like mush of colors, with light breaking through the canopy of the trees. The characters have yellow colored skin, green hair, and brown horns. The character on the left is wearing a red hood and a blue tunic, while the character on the right sports a blue hood and a blue tunic with a different cut. While the character on the left doesn't wear any accessories, the character on the right sports multiple earrings, a golden band on their horn as well as a metallic knuckles protection. The clothing of both characters is reminiscent of the fashion found through the European Middle-ages. At the top of the image, between close-ups of a portion of both characters' faces, there is a bracelet made out of a coin and wooden beads, with its lace breaking in sparks of light. In the middle of the picture, separating the two halves, is a piece of text. Transcription : "I was taught that eyes are windows into one's soul, yet, looking into yours after so long, they strike me as mirrors. Distorted. Broken." While this words are written in a dark brown ink, there are additions made in red ink. Over the word "distorted" you can read "still whole", and over the word "broken" you can read "still fragile". It is implied these are the characters' emotions in that moment. On the bottom right part of the image, the artist's watermark can be found, indicating their username, as well as their stance against their art being reworked, traced, or used to feed AI.
