Brown Romani person here. Journalism in the US and the Western world in general never had the integrity it claimed to have. It was always compromised by white supremacy and Western hegemony. What's new is that even assimilated PoC and some groups of white people are now on the receiving end of this.
I came to the realization that mainstream journalism was no longer a place where journalism would be defended out of principle when Palestinian journalists kept dying to sniper fire w/ no outcry, and when students were barred from covering aggresive speech suppression AT COLUMBIA with no outcry.
regularly big pub journalists come on here to scream at people not to criticize them or cancel their subscriptions because JOURNALISM IS SO IMPORTANT and they can't even stick up for one of their colleagues

I'm studying archivist work, & wondering what kind of Romani history could benefit from further research & documenting. Been unearthing my father's side, who come from a long line of Italian travelers, but they don't have much to work with (or deceased).
