CALL FOR CHANGE 🚨

A new study by @runnymedetrust.bsky.social trust has found that up to 9 million people in the UK (3 in 5) could be at risk of having their British citizenship stripped under current laws. This equates to about 13% of the population.

When reviewing your digital devices, start by checking which accounts and apps are logged in. Remove any access you do not recognize and change passwords to something you've never used before. A strong password should not be based on personal details that someone else could easily guess.

Survivors of online abuse, particularly image-based abuse, often blame themselves for sharing images with the perpetrator.

If they're on the receiving end of abuse or harassment as a result of content they've published, they may feel like they should have just kept silent.

Some sobering facts about women and online abuse:

🔶 Women are 27 times more likely than men to be harassed online
🔶1 in 5 women have experienced online harassment or abuse
🔶Black women are 84% more likely to receive abusive or problematic than white women

One of the ways perpetrators exert control of their victims is through the use of devices, particularly 'smart' devices such as internet-enabled cameras, voice-activated assistants like Alexa or Siri or location-tracking settings on fitness trackers or smart watches.
