We warmly welcome the publication of the government’s violence against women and girls (VAWG) strategy, Freedom from Violence and Abuse, which was launched yesterday. The strategy is ambitious in scale and scope, and we are busy reading and digesting the documents.

In 2019, Respect began implementing the Safe & Together model, an internationally recognised set of tools and interventions to help child protection professionals improve their response to domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse is a workplace issue. One in four employees across the UK will be affected by domestic abuse in their lifetime, meaning that virtually every workplace will have both victim-survivors and perpetrators of abuse.

A key milestone in our influencing work was ahead of the 2024 General Election when Respect launched its first manifesto, ‘‘Stopping Domestic Abuse.’’
We challenged the new government to make a pledge to stop perpetrators & hold them to account.
