Btw, Kat was warning everybody about rightwing Dem donors calling LGBTQ and non-white Americans "The Groups" — and using that term to start throwing marginalized people under the bus — THREE (3!) months ago!

This was before she was running. It is crazy how prescient this is.

I agree.

In a functioning democracy, we would already be in the midst of an impeachment trial.

In Nazi Germany, the targeted population was encouraged to self-deport and the state sought to impoverish them to force them to leave.

This is the biggest, underreported news right now. Republicans are trying to STEAL an election in North Carolina. Straight up. This is a test case for 2026 and 2028. They will never voluntarily give up power again.
Bombshell in North Carolina: the state's GOP-dominated Court of Appeals just sided with the GOP candidate in last year's supreme court race.

Their decision would toss roughly 60,000 ballots (!) that have been counted, & likely hand the election to GOP instead of incumbent Dem Justice who won it.

Trump is already defying the courts.

He has no more right to defy a district court than the Supreme Court.

Essentially saying all lower court rulings are optional for Trump is legally incorrect and irresponsible.
Schumer: "If he defies the Supreme Court, then we are in uncharted territory ... our entire democracy is at risk. I believe that if Donald Trump should defy the courts, the public will rise up. Democrats will fight it in every single way ... autocrats only succeed if the public lets them."

The deal to drop Adams' corruption case isn't a one-off. In the last week, Team Trump functionally decriminalized covert foreign influence and overseas bribery. Oh, and they broke up the team that was taking Russian oligarchs' yachts.

Today the @nytimes.com sought to whitewash its central role in laundering anti-trans falsehoods and turbocharging anti-trans attacks nationwide. My reporting showed that editorial leadership was aware of this depravity which is why this disingenuous piece can’t erase the scale of what they’ve done.

LOL the White House released its policy stating that White House personnel may never engage in communications with DoJ that could influence an investigation. Then it spends 3 pages explaining that the president can, though.

The Commander in Chief is politicizing the deaths of not only 67 lives, but three Servicemembers.

His hatred for those who serve knows no bounds. His disdain for women knows no limits. His empathy for those left behind is nonexistent.

Absolutely DISGRACEFUL.

Almost 20 years ago, a doctor on TV was asked, "Isn't 12 a little early for a kid to be deciding to transition?" And her response was, "It's old enough for them to decide that it's not worth living anymore if they can't."

That was the only argument I ever needed to hear about gender affirming care.

UM ALSO.

Your health insurance company gets theirs guidelines on what to cover from
the CDC and the NIH.

They are salivating over this. Because if there’s no guidance, they may say “well we won’t cover that b/c it’s not necessary.”

It happens WAY more often than people think
Why should the public care about the freeze on the NIH? Aside from the need for scientific pursuits to make our society better…
-For every dollar we invest in NIH research, there is a $2.5 return.
-Research dollars help fund universities that employ non-academics. (1/)

It is little known, but the first book burnings in Nazi Germany didn’t target Jewish writers. It was the burning of the library of the Institute of Sexual Research, which was a safe home for trans people.

It is no accident that fascists today walk that same dark path by targeting trans people. /5
