I also had the Avanti experience yesterday. I left London two hours earlier than planned in the hope I’d avoid some of the madness.

You got your teen to watch Paddington???? It's now distinctly uncool in our house. Paddington 2 shades it for me - Paddington 3... well they need to stop there.

I personally agree - but then I'd also say it makes no sense for anyone connected to the PR business to be supporting and taking money from legally, ethically and morally suspect regimes and organisations... and yet some do.

They are the worst. I'm starting to look back on the days of Pacer trains with some fondness. Yes they were awful trains (water pouring in through the roof was a highlight), but as I recall they never seemed this bad in terms of service and reliability.
