One of the things I've been most encouraged by in the past couple weeks since Zohran's primary victory is that both NYC DSA and NY WFP have expressed an intent to pivot towards policy-based campaigns -- primarily taxing the rich.
"I think (Gov. Kathy Hochul) should be primaried and defeated if she does not agree to tax increases. It is such an irresponsible use of power to sit in the role of governor and constantly coddle billionaires rather than give New Yorkers what they need." - State Sen. @jabaribrisport.bsky.social
Mamdani promised to tax the rich. DSA is already mobilizing to make that happen.
In the People’s Republic of New York City, an empowered DSA is strategizing about how to convert electoral clout into state policy.

Read the very last story Hossam Shabat filed, hours before Israel murdered him. I can't believe I'm talking about Hossam in the past tense.

Great article by the @texastribune.org on the politics of border wall construction. Turns out it's a pretty haphazard project!

This is really great writing by William Shoki and Niall Reddy: a familiar story in some respects (NUMSA’s epic corruption, the decline of private sector unions etc) but a sharp and thoughtful analysis of current South African (labour and working-class) politics.
