Just watched the entire Fox interview with Mamdani and holy SHIT he killed it. This level of message discipline, framing the pitch to fit the priors & biases of the target audience, outflanking them on key narratives like mom-and-pop businesses — it is absolutely unbelievable to see this brilliance.

Dear @americanair.bsky.social
You've changed your upcoming DFW-LAX from terminal D, to C, to D, to A while my friend is trying to get home.

...you could do a REALLY funny thing right now by changing it back to terminal D.

Hands up if you're actually trying to build small, discrete, cellularized services because you understand that "globally scalable multi region" backed by an overly complex data management strategy IS ONE OF THE WORST THINGS YOU CAN DO.

Stop building big distributed systems when you can avoid them.

"There is also the enduring suspicion that some workers slack off at home."

If you're so incompetent that you don't know how to measure the performance of your employees, just say so.
Their location makes no difference to that.

People who hate JIRA are like people who hate coffee or brussel sprouts.

After the first time someone prepares it well for you with high quality ingredients/setup you'll never want to do without it.

But getting that correct is arcane knowledge from the farthest places known to only a select few.

Fellow nerds! I love playing D&D but I've struggled to be a good DM. Memorizing exact details has been a struggle for me. I needed an assistant.. so I made one.

It listens on a discord channel, transcribes the chat, and uses Claude as your personal DM assistant:

I bet Congressman Gill would eat a New York slice with a fork and knife.
As a Brown man who grew up with a family who all eat like this, I can't tell you how deeply this hurts and genuinely cuts. The racism is unbelievable. I eat like this and am proud to do so but it doesn't stop how painful the shock is that someone views you this way.

Last week Xe Iaso wrote a fantastic post on the problem AI is going to create for the next gen of engineers.

History shows us that we have more reasons to be hopeful than we did in the past.

The future can be bright if each of us chooses it to be.

I asked my friends if it was bedtime yet. @dbsmasher.com kindly informed my that it wasn't even 8pm in my time zone.

So now we have: isitbedtimeyet.foo

You can see what other time zones look like with: isitbedtimeyet.foo/tz/Asia/Seoul

This week while on vacation, @raejinmoon.bsky.social asked for a Spotify playlist with every BTS song, including solos.
I didn't have my laptop with me, just a tablet.

GitHub codespaces + Claude churned out 900 lines of good code, tests and documentation for a Spotify Playlist Generator. 1/n
