Three years ago today I saw Joel Embiid drop 59/11/8 on the Jazz with SEVEN blocks. The greatest individual basketball performance I've ever seen in person -- and probably will be for the rest of my life.

Want to run a street festival in Philly? You'll probably have to pay the police department for security. That is...unless you know someone.

Great reporting from @ryanbriggs.bsky.social and @maxmmarin.bsky.social.
Philly street festivals are shutting down over rising police overtime costs. But some groups don’t have to pay.
Philly elected officials, police-connected groups, and street festival organizers who cut special deals are exempt from tens of thousands dollars in city event fees inked to street festivals.

How is that not a foul on the oubre put back? Brown just full shoved him in the air. With no one else around. Jfc

Ah well nevertheless
All in all...a phenomenal first 10 games for the Sixers.

Despite getting nothing from PG and part-time play from Jo they're 5th in offense, 10th in net rating, and three of their four losses came down to the final possession.

The schedule will stiffen...but this looks like a good team at minimum.

amazing that i...a simple fan from philadelphia...have seen far crazier injuries than basketball lifer Nicholas Nurse
Asked Nurse if this is one of the more bizarre injuries he’s seen as a coach, and he concurred.
We’ve got a Dominick Barlow sighting at practice (sitting on the sideline not doing on-court work). He is wearing a cast/brace thing that basically takes up his entire arm.

On this day -- Tuesday November 4th 2025 -- the Philadelphia 76ers have the best record and net rating in the Eastern Conference

We're up to 203 possessions and still no one has an answer for those three-guard looks.

99th percentile in differential, 99th percentile in offense, 90th percentile in defense

Grimes has been a killer complement to Maxey and Edgecombe.
The Sixers' 3-guard lineups have been absurdly good this year.

Small sample, of course....but with Maxey, VJ and Grimes on the floor the Sixers are:

+33.3 per 100 (100th percentile)

Offensive Rating: 143.9 (100th percentile)

Defensive Rating: 110.7 (74th percentile)

If I was an NBA coach I’d have someone on my staff track every time each player on my team called for a review and how often they were right. Cuz some of these guys are absolutely winging it.

My cold-water Sixers take is that they're a .500 team masquerading as an undefeated team right now thanks to some clutch wins and scorching-hot shooting.

But the good news is...they've never been a .500 team with Embiid this limited (and other key players out)

Update: As of ~2 p.m., there is now $2.8 million in reported independent expenditures on the Supreme Court retention elections. That's $1.2 million more since we first published. Much of it is digital ads from pro-retention groups.
Despite weeks of ads on Pennsylvania's Supreme Court retention elections, public reports are missing some big political spenders. The culprit? The state's loophole ridden system for reporting independent political spending.
www.spotlightpa.org/news/2025/10...
Why PA Supreme Court retention race spending is hard to track
Blame it on a mix of lagging reporting, weakly enforced rules, and a campaign finance system that requires little transparency.

Every time I watch Orlando I just don't understand why they've stuck with Carter as their center. I guess he's signed at a nice number. But man...you've got two bruising wings who love to score around the rim and have jumpshot questions. Meanwhile your center can't drag anyone out of the paint
