So I can finally share my vague publishing news with you: I wrote an academic adventure romance.
I'm watching Ken Burns's American Revolution hoping it doesn't cover any of the tidbits from You, Me, and the Conspiracy, like a totally normal person. 😭

Is there anything more demoralizing than spending an entire morning grading only to check your Canvas queue and to see the number has ticked up because students were turning things in?

If Glenn Powell's story from his SNL monologue about the UPS driver is true, it's adorable and I would read that book.

I just watched it, and it's totally entertaining. It's two hours of hot people having a great time. You need it, and you deserve it.
THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!

The production of TWELTH NIGHT with Lupita Nyong’o, Junior Nyong’o, Peter Dinklage, Sandra Oh, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Daphne Rubin-Vega is now on the PBS app!!!!

One of my formative life experiences was reading The Scarlet Letter in the fall of 1998.
The flower of my young adulthood was spent hearing about William Jefferson Clinton getting a blow job and here we are 27 years later and ONCE AGAIN I gotta hear about somebody sucking that man's dick.

A GORGEOUS COVER FOR A WONDERFUL BOOK!!
Maybe you'd like to see the amazing cover for WORLD'S OKAYEST ORACLE (RELUCTANTLY) SEEKS DEMON, my book about an infamously underpowered oracle saving the world alongside the uptight demon who helped ruin her life 20 years ago?

The only thing I have to add to the JCO discourse is that while the woman can be a mess, "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" absolutely rivets students. I do love teaching it.

I watched this while knitting this weekend, and it was unexpectedly hilarious and also kind of touching and a lot relevant.

Am now rereading Frankenstein: "and if my incantations were always unsuccessful, I attributed the failure to my own inexperience and mistake than to a want of skill or fidelity in my instructors." Ah, what a critique of AI "learning."

Frankenstein was a truly beautiful film. Make cinema a visual medium again!

Politicians are happy to speak for "soccer moms" or wine moms or whatever we're calling them these days.

Which is why we--because I am one!--need to speak for ourselves.

I LOVE this idea. Some of my books' theme songs:

You, Me, & the Conspiracy - "House of the Rising Sun," Lauren O'Connell
Bold Moves - "Let You Break My Heart Again," Laufey
Bad Reputation - "Cut to the Feeling," Carly Rae Jepsen
Funny Guy - "Steamroller," Phoebe Bridgers
I am so glad to hear I am not the only writer who has opening tv show credits playing in their brain as they write. Here are the theme songs for my other books:

I have some books on sale that I should probably plug, huh? First up, in North America, you can grab the ebook of Bold Moves--my super angsty, super spicy chess romance is about secrets, second-chances, and shooting a television show--for $2.49 at Amazon all this month.

Here's how to turn it off.
