Macfadyen is incredible, and he approaches the role with so much empathy and nuance. I legitimately felt so crushed for the man after his one on one with Garfield. sincerely, it was devastating.

I hadn't read it since college (I'm an Americanist), and--a few moments of latent racism/colonialism/eugenics aside--been great going so far.
