I’ve gotten this far in life without being an expert on anything. Not a podcaster, author, or influencer.
I’m still reading books and talking about them. Due to taking a professional exam, what I read in June is a bit late, but better late than never. austinfey.com/2025/07/17/b...
Books Read in June 2025
I made it through my 6-hour exam (hooray!), so I now turn my attention back to books I have read somewhat recently. Unnatural Death, by Dorothy Sayers Published 1927 At dinner one evening, Lord Pet…

On Tuesday, Iranian asylum-seekers who fled persecution for their Christian faith were detained by ICE in Los Angeles.

The arrests add to a growing number of church members taken despite lawful status.

It’s late, but I read two nonfiction books in April and the interaction between them was really something: austinfey.com/2025/05/20/b...

Petty complaint: I hate that all the “favorites of 2024” posts/ Spotify year wrapped, etc. come out now. It’s early December! I still have 27 days left! It’s not over till it’s over.

I want all those lists in January when the decorations are down and I need something to look forward to.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of recommending a book to a friend and then getting a text that they are enjoying it! The triumph, the delight.

Just thinking about trickle-down economics and how it doesn’t account enough for human greed. “A rising tide lifts all boats” only if the tide reaches the lower boats.

So you know, just another Thursday over here.

Peaches taste like summer sunshine (the happy kind when it’s not as hot and you don’t want to immediately die after opening your front door).
