Kilosort4 detects a LOT of neurons, I recorded 15k neurons in one year 🤯 Traditionally, one would curate these detected units to see if they are well isolated single neurons. This is not feasible anymore, so today let's look at three options that are out there to automate this process! 🤖👇

Happy to see this study led by Irene Onorato finally out - we show distinct phase locking and spike timing of optotagged PV cells and Sst interneuron subtypes during gamma oscillations in mouse visual cortex, suggesting an update to the classic PING model www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Distinct roles of PV and Sst interneurons in visually induced gamma oscillations
Gamma-frequency oscillations are a hallmark of active information processing and are generated by interactions between excitatory and inhibitory neuro…

🚨Preprint Alert

New work with @martinavinck.bsky.social

We elucidate the architectural bias that enables CNNs to predict early visual cortex responses in macaques and humans even without optimization of convolutional kernels.

I made a systems neuroscience starter pack, focused on experimentalists who study the brain at the level of populations of neurons!

Also want to be on the list? Reply or DM me a picture of your ephys rig or 2p setup and I'll add you 🤭

Ok, so I wanted to try my hand at building a starter pack too :-). This pack includes developers of tools and methods for electrophysiology (focused on extracellular recordings). Please let me know if I missed anyone! Also, we need more people from X to switch to fill this out!
