Didn’t have “new washing machine” on my Christmas list, but here we are.

We have a tradition in our family of naming the turkey after a public official that most behaved like a turkey in the previous year. Previous honorees have included Rudy Giuliani, Kim Davis and last year’s honoree, Mark Robinson. I present Cuck…I mean Chuck Schumer. That’s butter on top.

Our old neighborhood, we were in 328 A 1-2 for years. There aren’t many seats in the barn with a better view than row A of the upper level. And these are in the shoot twice end. Great seats.

I ran out of room on my regular liquor shelf so I relocated all my bourbon, rye and a lonely bottle of scotch to an antique bar that we inherited from my wife’s aunt.

My wife and I both work from home. She has a holiday today, I don’t. FML.

In the meantime, I have made a rum Manhattan. 2 parts 15 year old El Dorado Demerara rum, 1 part sweet vermouth, 2 shakes angostura bitters. Stir with ice for about 30 seconds, strain into a rocks glass over a big rock.
