We have a tradition in our family of naming the turkey after a public official that most behaved like a turkey in the previous year. Previous honorees have included Rudy Giuliani, Kim Davis and last year’s honoree, Mark Robinson. I present Cuck…I mean Chuck Schumer. That’s butter on top.

I ran out of room on my regular liquor shelf so I relocated all my bourbon, rye and a lonely bottle of scotch to an antique bar that we inherited from my wife’s aunt.

Growing up in New Jersey, White Castle almost always followed a night of bar hopping. And then there was this to satisfy a crowd. There were 2 of these for a late night data center dinner for 7. Sadly, we only got through 45 of the 60 burgers. But 5 of us made the biggest dent, 1 person abstained.

In the meantime, I have made a rum Manhattan. 2 parts 15 year old El Dorado Demerara rum, 1 part sweet vermouth, 2 shakes angostura bitters. Stir with ice for about 30 seconds, strain into a rocks glass over a big rock.
