This is why I no longer explain myself on demand. I will set boundaries and point out things I'm noticing, but if I can tell someone is committed to reading me wrong (and I can't always) then I have to protect myself because it actually hurts to be boxed into a made up caricature of yourself

I was pretty vulnerable in that thread when I talked about how little energy I have and all the panicked thoughts that race through my head in that kind of situation and to have it reduced to "won't put in the effort to learn to say 'no thanks'" is extremely fucking unfair.
