Every touchdown in Chargers Titans was scored by a defensive player. And every touchdown was scored when the chargers have the ball. It's 7-7.

Notice how it’s somehow the government’s job to legislate a few Bible verses on human sexuality over our entire country, but it’s suddenly “not the government’s job” when it comes to the +2,500 Bible verses calling for a generous use of wealth that prioritizes the poor.

They showed highlights of the Cowboys pass rush and... it just looked like a bunch of plays where Love held on to the ball too long? Like none of them were quick pressures?

I do not give a shit about "illegal" immigration. I'm more concerned with everyone having their basic human needs met, such that their lives aren't shit. A few people desperate enough that they'll risk their lives in a flimsy boat doesn't change that, if anything it reinforces it

W.E.B. Du Bois on Robert E. Lee:

“Either he knew what slavery meant when he helped maim and murder thousands in its defense, or he did not. If he did not he was a fool. If he did, Robert Lee was a traitor and a rebel–not indeed to his country, but to humanity and humanity’s God.”

I don’t know how many times we have to say this, but the U.S. government is not a business and shouldn’t be run like one. It’s a service—for the people.

So let me get this straight: masks are bad and un-American if worn to fight a pandemic, but good if worn by people claiming to be government agents when they kidnap people off the street

Every now and again it blows my mind that humans need food and water to literally stay alive and we've created a society where we have to PAY for it.

Honestly it could have returned pristine results and I'd say the same thing, because I don't think we should be hanging this entirely on "the plagiarism machine is wrong" because some day the plagiarism machine might be right, but it will still be the plagiarism machine.

A great example of how technology has gotten worse:

I have a novel I've been working on for a long time. One day a sidebar appeared that let me click on a chapter and it would take me right to it. Perfect!

Now that's gone, and whatever they replaced it with is so dysfunctional it's useless

We watched people standing in line for 8-10 hours to vote in Georgia, so they made it illegal to give them water. They called in bomb threats to majority Black polling places. They did everything they could to suppress the vote.

And then folks are out here like, "well Georgia voted for this lol"
I really hate this take. You have no idea why people didn't vote. We live in a country with systemic voter suppression. Election Day isn't a national holiday in the US and there's a host of mechanisms set up to encourage people in many states not to vote.
68% of eligible voters did not vote *against* Trump. They just couldn't be arsed to vote against fascism in a binary election where fascism was one of the options, and the other was not fascism. Which means they're OK with fascism - at best. Most of them voted for him and love fascism.

This stock market crash thing is so confusing. On one hand you have every economist and bank in the free world freaking out. On the other, there are some blue check accounts on Twitter with ancient statues as their profile pics doing 20 part threads on why down is the new up. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel like a big part of me being vague with time and distance when I write is because in a completely new fantasy world, if I get too specific I start overthinking. Minutes, miles, liters... if this world even HAS such measurements, they'd be called something else and measured differently.
me, writing about spans of time:

"it had been endless days"

"almost a decade"

"centuries ago"

"dozens of years"

"he'd lived years beyond telling"

exact numbers can't get me!
