Just a simple girl trying to make her way through the Universe
Just started Week 5 post hip replacement and I've been painkiller free for 4 days now (yay).

We should never take walking normally and pain free for granted. It's a privilege every day.

I'll never not be grateful for it, each and every day.

it's been a hot minute, Bluesky... I had hip replacement surgery on my right hip two weeks ago and just got home from rehab yesterday. Recovering at home for the next few weeks.
Doing very well so far. Went from a walking frame to one crutch on Day 4. Started walking without the crutch on Day 7

Listening to Kate Bush is better for my anxiety than breathing exercises ever could be. I love and appreciate her so much

Booked in to have my hip replacement surgery in September. Navigating the logistics of ensuring good respite care for mum and equally good care for my cat babies while I'm in hospital and early rehab phase has been exhausting.
My anxiety: "This is what I'm made for" 🤦‍♀️

So I was right...the pain I've had in my hamstring for the past four weeks is a hamstring strain lol.

It's really messed up my training in the last month but i have a plan to move forward and allow me to train without aggravating it. Praying it will settle down soon.

I miss deadlifts!

So, OK, the highlighted islands are uninhabited except for some native wildlife. The only access to these islands is by sea from Australia. You can't even access by air.

This is what happens when you have complete idiots in charge.

A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful, and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It's a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity - Jimmy Carter

sure, and enforcing the name is going to do so much to bring down the cost of living for the average American, hey....

Pay attention @royalsociety.org - stop trying to gaslight us by pretending our concern for science and ethics can be dismissed as ‘political’
A scientists job is to present facts-even unpopular facts. Standing up for ‘facts’ is our job-not to be confused with politics. Just because a political movement supports or rejects certain facts doesn’t make scientists political when we reaffirm the facts. Ousting Musk is standing up for ‘facts’.

The Vela #pulsar is very bright in our skies (in radio). The good folks at @jodrellbank.bsky.social have converted radio light into sound and you can hear what the rapid rotation of this neutron star sound like in this short video 🔭📡

Imagine the energy required to rotate an entire star this fast?!

Nice going! I bet the cooler weather helped. I still have to train this morning but glad I won't be sweltering in my garage for a change lol.

Small detail, but it's interesting that Mitch McConnell broke from his GOP colleagues, and voted NO to this appointment....

But, holy hell ... thoughts and prayers, America...
By voting to confirm RFK Jr., the Senate “is wagering the future of our public health system on a prayer that a conspiracy theorist can build back up the agencies that he and his supporters have spent years breaking down,” Nicholas Florko writes.
RFK Jr. Won. Now What?
America’s health is in the hands of an anti-vaccine conspiracist.

An interesting, and disquieting, read
This has been my most ambitious piece of writing so far. It's long. And I will be working on a much shorter version for a wider audience. But I also don't want to lose sight of the deep truths lurking around us. So, here is The Plot Against America. www.notesfromthecircus.com/p/the-plot-a...
