One of the producers on Guilty Gear Strive said it was basically impossible to source player feedback on balance changes online because nobody had original opinions and would just parrot what the most popular content creators said and so they had to rely on data and I think about that every day.

Sometimes when I talk about Stupid Dice Tricks in TTRPGs the replies make it EXTREMELY clear that a lot of folks reading those posts have never so much as glanced at anything other than D&D5E, and their idea of an unimaginably esoteric "dice trick" is, like, making skill checks with percentile dice.

How do I say this… it’s unprofessional to critique a piece of work for the attention. Difference between talking in private between pals and making it a whole thing on socials, it only ever comes across as mean spirited and immature. The ones who complain the loudest can’t back it up either.
