I didn't know sticker games were even a genre of game that existed, but let me tell you Little Corners is on sale on steam and it is so nice to put little scenes together while I listen to my audio books. Highly recommend!

Is it time for an emotional support rewatch of The West Wing yet? Asking for a friend. The friend is me.

Alt: Josh Lyman from The West Wing looks around disgustedly. The caption reads "I'm so sick of congress I could vomit."

Have watched Frankenstein twice this week. General thoughts can be summed up as follows:

Ah yes, my favorite November game: "Am I a profoundly unloveable creature who everyone hates and who hates everyone and everything, cursed to live without hope or the gentle touch of the sun, or do I just need to take my vitamin D supplement?"

One good thing: seeing so many abled folks angry on behalf of disabled and chronically ill people. Not just angry for themselves. Specifically speaking out for us.

If we care about each other, we can win.

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

But the public libraries in tiny Jefferson County in Northern Appalachia were in danger of losing their tax funding thanks to right-wing book banners. And we won. The library's funding is safe!!!!!

heads up to anyone who holds trans kids near: amy harmon from the nyt is searching for and having a hard time finding people to interview to find out exactly what trans kids are doing when their care is limited or cut off, and for purposes of community safety, please shut the fuck up around her.

Hey.

You feel this feeling that you feel right now, when there's a huge electoral rebuke of Trump and all of his dipshits, when even rural PA is voting in full slates of Democrats? You feel how good that feels, when the first Muslim woman is elected to state-level office on the day Cheney died?

Every year, all of the safety tips we see are aimed at trick-or-treaters behaving more safely around cars, and none of them seem to focus on how drivers should behave.

What if we changed that messaging just a little?

"Sometimes she cries because things are so beautiful and we keep messing them up. Because the world doesn't have to be so terrifying. That's on people, not the world."

That line from Sunrise on the Reaping hit like a gut punch. This book is reminding me why I love The Hunger Games series so much.

I know "who's this clown" is the ultimate insult, but for layered insults with many different implications I'm quite fond of "well, YOU haven't changed since Livejournal".
