If you pay attention to any large industry long enough and follow it to its logical conclusion you eventually end up sounding like a communist even if you started off testing CPU case fans. youtu.be/cUrJVdF2me0?...

It's called vibe coding because I'm vibing to music while the agent codes.

What if technology didn’t feel so… hollow?

Some friends and I just released a manifesto about a world where tech leaves us feeling nourished (along with an evolving list of theses about how we can build it)

The Resonant Computing Manifesto
Technology should bring out the best in humanity, not the worst—a manifesto for resonant computing built on five principles that reject hyper-scale extraction for human flourishing.

The decline of third spaces and hangouts, such as malls, video rental places, arcades & skate parks has been a direct result of the rise of convenience and has also been objectively bad for society as a whole. Its not that everyone HAS to socialize, but having no option to without bars is a failing.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

There is a subtle irony behind logging to the (crappy) VPN and filling up/creating my Jira/Redmine tickets —and, well, posting to bsky I guess— while the LLM works on the implementation on the background.

Opened bluesky just to search for this post since it came up during work. So relatable.

Opened Bluesky after finishing Cyberpunk 2077, only to find out that I might not have scaped from Night City at all.

I got this absolute gem of a book for myself, a collection of some of the works of André des Gachons, an artist who observed and reported the weather daily according to his own system for decades. This is the first book published by Phénomène, a brand new French publishing house.

Took me two weeks to write 100 lines of C.

Sure, I wrote a few thousand lines to test it and pages of conversation, but most of my time was spent understanding, not writing.

Reminder that *writing* code is a tiny minority of the time we spend on “programming.”

Once I mapped the em dash to a key —using QMK— my use of the long boi went up by a factor of 10^6. So useful, love it.
Just saw a post where someone said that use of em dashes (—) was a giveaway that you're using AI for writing. Uh, no. It could just mean you like to use em dashes.

Two years later, I still feel like my thesis —an introduction to monte carlo methods applied to real time ray tracing— is still the piece of work I'm most proud of A fine balance of style and technical depth, produced for both web and print.

It is also open source: github.com/asmilex/Rayt...
