CALLOUT: I'm working on a piece about pregnant people or those with newborns/infants who rely on SNAP/WIC, and I'd like to add personal stories to it. If you or someone you know is experiencing this right now or has relied on this program in the past with children, can you send me a DM? Thanks!

You can act like this is hyperbole, or you can listen to the dozens of times right wing commentators and even elected officials have said they want to do exactly that.
It's not complicated. They're just trying to stop women from being able to vote.

Today’s TO DO:
This bill will especially impact married women who took their husbands’ last name as well as the poorest, the oldest and the disabled.

Julie passed away last night at 11:05PM with those who love her by her side. I am heartbroken for me, her daughter who is in college and too young to lose her mom, and her family. This awful cancer took her away approximately one month after she was diagnosed and at far too young of an age.
Friends, this is my bestie. She was diagnosed with leukemia this week after a very sudden illness and will be in the hospital for at least a month. Please help this single mom who has helped so many others in her lifetime. Much love, Ashley

Yesterday I took my best friend to the hospital because she was suddenly having trouble breathing. We assumed it was COVID or a virus. Within a couple of hours, we found out that she has leukemia. By evening she was undergoing chemo and told she will be in the hospital for a month. 1/2

Nothing like finding out one of your website vendors didn’t renew one your client’s website domain on New Year’s Eve. I will definitely be making a change.

I have been slowly moving what I can without the movers for the past 7 days. Still lots more to do. New furniture was delivered today (although RC Willey fumbled in getting a couple of items on the truck so they will come later) and the movers come Thursday. All I can say is my back hurts 😢.

Anxiety is high. I am sick with bronchitis, however in the next 16-days I need to pack up a house, move, ensure a key property transfer happens for work, create two board packets for board meetings, finish end of year financials for my accountant, and what seems like a million other little things.

Ashton Jeanty - you are still a hero to the Boise Bronco fan base and will be remembered.

As encouragement, here are a few other people who were runners up in the Heisman Trophy race:

Ashton Jeanty may not get the Heisman--tho' I still think he could--but I will never not appreciate the damned fine luck of being a Bronco fan at a time when that man chose our field to call his for a few years. It's just been glorious to see not one of the best, but the best.

This has truly been a labor of love by myself and many others for the Meridian community. We are targeting the November 2025 ballot to establish the Meridian Auditorium District. Thanks to the Idaho Press for helping us tell our story! www.idahopress.com/news/local/n...

This sort of democratic backsliding, where Republicans seek to overturn the effect of an election by reallocating powers away from positions they have lost, has become almost routine now. But it should remain shocking.
Heads up:

North Carolina Republicans just voted to strip the state's incoming Democratic governor and attorney general of key powers — passing a sweeping bill before the GOP most likely loses its veto-proof supermajority in the Legislature next year.

Huh — I wonder why female large animal vets might not be interested in working in a state where she can provide a higher standard of care to livestock than she herself could receive from human docs in this fecking state 🧐
In a state where cows outnumber people, veterinarians are in short supply. Here's the latest on what Idaho's doing to address the shortage. Watch @IdahoReports tonight at 8 p.m. for more on the subject. #idleg #Idpol blog.idahoreports.idahoptv.org/2024/11/22/i...
