all discourse aside, there is one machine with consciousness. it's printers. they are alive and conscious and they hate you and they'd take your arm clean off if you let them. never trust a printer.

@moonbat99.bsky.social and I are obsessed with our newly adopted kitty. It should be illegal to have to go to work the day after adopting a cat. #catpeople #adopt

Got hit with a double whammy of sickness. Stomach bug and directly into a cold. It's been a tough time, but I have been reading some this week. I just finished Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and I am working on I Was a Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones and The Paradox Hotel by Rob Hart

In less than two weeks, September 9th unleashes a fury of horror upon the world. I'm sure there are also more than the ones I've included. How many of these do you have on your TBRs? Which ones are you most excited about?

I finished Automatic Noodle and it was delightful. I wish it was longer. I loved the characters, the worldbuilding, and the cozy plot so much. I hope there are more!!! Currently reading I was a Teenage Slasher #books #booksky #currentlyreading

💜ASEXUAL IS QUEER💜

Ace authors. Ace women. Ace characters. Ace horror.

We're often not considered queer enough to be labeled LGBTQ+. We're often passed up when people are considering LGBTQ+ reads.

We have voices and we'd like to be heard.

Consider these upcoming ace horror offerings this fall.

I have been ill this week. (Stomach virus!! Booo) and have not felt like reaching much. I did finish Of Monsters and Mainframes the other day. I've started Automatic Noodle now and I am enjoying it. #BOOKS #booksky #currentlyreading #reader #scifi

Completely agree. Horror can and does often tackle deeper themes. That's the beauty of genre fiction in my opinion.
The first sentence here is elitist and insulting. The remainder of the tweet simply takes it as axiomatic that horror fiction cannot do any of the things described, by virtue of being horror. As if all horror is just artless, gormless juvenilia with no capacity for exploring deeper themes.

I was able to finish both of the books I was reading last week. I finished The Dark Maestro by Brendan Slocomb and The Vegetarian by Han Kang just now... I loved The Dark Maestro. I'm not sure how I feel about the other one. It was a lot. No idea what I will read next. #books #booksky

Finished two books this past week. @moonbat99.bsky.social and I have a crazy busy week coming up so I'm not sure how much time I will have to read. I liked The Village Library Demon-Hunting Society, but it wasn't awesome. Really enjoyed Alice Is Not Dead though. #reading #books #booksky

I just finished Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. I absolutely loved The Martian and really did not think any of his books could top it. However, PHM was AMAZING. I loved it even more. Highly recommend. I cannot wait to see the movie!! #booksky #books #scifi

Do I get points for having been an aspiring hyper Christian straight girl clerk librarian girl in the midst of realizing she's actually an probably autistic definitely bookish lesbian? I have a wife now sooo it turned out well for me
ken dragged me into the library to make me get a library card but more importantly i'm trying to figure out of if the clerk librarian girl is an autistic bookish lesbian or a hyper christian straight girl. these may seem radically different but they actually are identical presenting archetypes

Bro, people who have never worked in public libraries do not understand the luxury of having research librarians on staff and available for referrals. If you are at a public library, bestie YOU'RE the reference librarian or there's not one. #library #librarian

I work in a library. When you come in with a faint memory of a cover and a whisper of a plot, I don’t panic—I hunt.
Because library magic is real.
But so is the work behind it. And I take pride in being the kind of wizard who earns it.
