almost none of the details of the book are present in this movie and so the ending from the book you're referring to is entirely absent - this is a good movie but a terrible adaptation as it diverges so much from the book it's effectively a different story -- likely more inspired by the '31 movie

screenshot 1/2: We have both fundamentally thought that information about bodily autonomy and these attacks should not be paywalled, but then that does get into a problem of, how do you support yourself as a writer doing this. So we are not paywalling our work. We heard from another newsroom that has a donation model and heard that they do really well with that. And so we decided, this fits with our values and it seems like it could potentially work, so let’s do that. screenshot 2/2: To be frank, freelance isn’t making it sustainable for me to keep doing this, and I really want to keep doing this. I think I am good at it and I’m passionate about it. So I think that a worker-owned publication is potentially a way to continue doing this work and have people support us directly through that model rather than the failing media business model that we see right now.
